  Thallus predominantly endophloeodal, usually epiphloeodal only around ascomata, to c. 100 µm thick, pale yellowish grey to pale greenish grey, dull to slightly glossy, smooth, continuous to slightly verrucose, appearing somewhat rimose due to the substratum. True cortex continuous or discontinuous, to 30 µm thick, consisting of periclinal hyphae, usually incorporating substratum particles. Algal layer well developed, continuous or discontinuous; calcium oxalate crystals absent or large and sparse. Vegetative propagules not seen. Ascomata conspicuous, to c. 0.6 mm diam., ±rounded, apothecioid, solitary to slightly marginally fused, emergent, mostly hemispherical. Disc usually not visible from above, pale greyish, slightly pruinose. Pores to c. 0.1 mm diam., irregular; proper exciple visible from above, free, off-white to pale greyish, incurved and distinctly shrunken. Thalline rim margin thin to thick, entire, ±rounded to slightly irregular; thalline rim incurved, pale reddish brown, with same surface features as the thallus. Proper exciple usually completely free, thin, hyaline internally to mainly yellowish brown marginally, apically usually dark brown, non-amyloid. Hymenium to c. 110 µm thick, not inspersed, distinctly conglutinated; paraphyses ±bent, slightly interwoven, unbranched, the tips thickened; lateral paraphyses conspicuous, to c. 30 µm long; columellar structures absent. Epihymenium hyaline, with sparse greyish granules, lacking crystals. Asci 8-spored; tholus initially thick, thin when mature. Ascospores muriform, occasionally submuriform, subglobose to ellipsoidal, rarely oblong, with ±rounded ends, hyaline, non-amyloid, 12–20 × 8–12 µm, with 4–7 × 1–4 locules; locules ±rounded to angular, cuboidal or irregular; transverse septa thin, becoming ±regular; ascospore wall thin to thick, non-halonate; endospore thin. Pycnidia not seen.
CHEMISTRY: Thallus K+ yellowish to brown, C–, P+ orange; containing constictic acid (major), stictic acid (major).
     
  Known only from the type locality in eastern Qld; grows on bark in rainforest.
